Interdisciplinary Analysts (IDA) is looking for a young man or woman interested in pursuing a career in social science research. He or she needs to undertake research projects to investigate a number of social issues in Nepal. A social researcher should be able to use variety of methods to gather their information; this can include survey questionnaires, focus groups, statistical analysis and open in-depth interviews. He or she should be a Nepali national – we are open to any caste or ethnic group.

 

Qualification:

The young man or woman should have a Master’s degree in a social science subject. Alternatively, he or she could also have a Masters’ degree in management or finance but should be interested in pursuing social science research. A degree from a university in the United States would be a definite advantage. We would prefer that the candidate has taken basic and intermediate level statistics as courses while pursuing Bachelors or Masters’ degree. The candidate should have a good Nepali language and should be willing to go to the field.

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Preparing research proposals
  • Requirement elicitation from clients
  • Finalizing research methods as part of the proposal writing process
  • Directing/supervising/monitoring fieldwork
  • Analyzing quantitative data and interpreting qualitative information
  • Writing reports
  • Occasionally travel may be required.
